Gay. x FROSH COURT The Frosh Court is a group made up of the members of Sigma Tau Epsilon Honor Society. Their duty is to correct the ways ofthose freshmen who neglect to wear their beanies, and who make the mistake of being nasty to a senior. 53 3 STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is an or- ganization madc up of represent- atives from each house, club, and dormitory in Alfred State Tceh. It is in operation to solve student problems, promote and enlarge club programs, and to foster bet- ter relations among all students. This year the Council got an Ag- Tech newspaper and yearbook started, published a student di- rectory, sponsored the Fall Festi- val and lilarvest Ball, and worked in general for the benefit of all those in the school. The Intramural Board meets once a month and when a protest arises concerning an intramural game. They take up any problems concerning the scheduling of the games, and at the end of each season present the winning teams with their tro- phies. Their current activities include basketball, volleyball, and softball. Hopes are held for an intramural football league next year. l W'OMEN'S COUNCIL First Row: B. DiGangi, Sec.g P. Augustini, Pres. i The Women's Council was formed last year when both schools agreed that it would be to their advantage to have separate organizations for governing the girls on campus. The sixteen repre- sentatives are elected by the residences, and meet weekly. During the year, the Council sponsored the big sister program, a formal dance, a faculty tea, and the Senior-Freshmen banquet.

The Interfraternity Council is the governing board for the nine member fraternities of State Tech and Alfred University. They make and enforce rules for situations of common interest to the fraternities. Last Spring the Council set up a steering committee to help the new pledge fraternity, Kappa Sigma Kappa. This year the Council sponsored the Interfrater- nity Ball, with music supplied by Sauter-Finnegan and the Orchestra. INTER COUNCIL First Row: N. Morrell, D. Sehelkcrg II. Cosolitog Dr. M. J. After the split from the University last year, the two State Tech sororities joined forces and organ- ized a State Tech Intersorority Council. Com- posed of representatives from Pi Nu Epsilon and Alpha Beta Chi, its purpose is, to bring about a better understanding between the two sororities. Throughout the year, the Council makes the rules for pledging, takes part in the Intersorority Ball with the University, and sets dates for rush- ing parties for freshmen and senior girls.
