Secretary Ann Flynn In a short time the happy days at Alfred E. Beach will be memories. It se ns strange that we call the day that you end your formal studies commencement, completion would' seem to be more appropriate term. But that would not be true to life, for everything that narks an ending, also, marks a beginning. We trust this will not be the end of your training. Just as a tree blossoms and bears fruit, sneds its leaves, and immediately begins to prepare for another crop, so must this period in your life mark the beginning of preparation for your life's work. The teachers have given freely of their time and efforts to prepare you for this new beginning. For some of you this new beginning will be for higher education; for others, it will be the beginning of business life and homecares. But 'whatever your choice, have a definite purpose and work toward'its accomplishment. You carry with you the kindest wishes of your teachers and friends here at Alfred E. Beach. It gives opportunities to see the schools in action, discuss trends and developments, bring the schools closer to the people and engender greater concern for the wellbeing of the schools. The observance is distinguished by two broad action programs: school visitation and educational interpretation. They lend themselves to many pro- jects which bring the people to the schools and the schools to the people. This year, the various departments in the Beach High School, related their exhibits to the central theme — Children in Today’s World.” This theme was exhibited by the Social Studies Department.
