Comprised of Radarmen and Electronics Technicians, O Division operates and maintains the ship's electronic sensors: radar, electronic countermeasures equipment, and com- munications gear. Radarmen in Combat Information Center gather bits of information, display it, evalu- ate it, and disemminate it to those who need to know. Electronics Technicians keep all the sensors and display equipment in peak shape. They make sure radio receivers and transmitters are always ready for communications a few miles away or thousands They are experts at diagnosing trouble in tight situ ations and getting the parts to fix equipment rapidly. O Division helps us navigate through restricted wat- ers, report merchant ships, kill submarines, con duct shore bombardment and intercept hostile air craft. They help the 00D conn the ship in trick f t y as carrier task group maneuvers, recover a downed pilot or man overboard or a piece of important de- bris.
