ASH students are fortunate to attend a school that cares enough to be open to change. Such changes include updating faculty, offering new courses, providing help when students need it, and challenging its students' capabilities. This year several new classes and programs have been added. Among the courses are Spanish l and an introductory analysis class. A tutoring program has been in- itiated to help students having problems in any of their courses. For those students who need a greater challenge, the Challenge Program has been established. The graduation requirements have also changed. As of 1987 students will follow a more rigid curriculum requiring 24 credits. Academic Change - meeting the needs of all students. Changes 1 1

Have you noticed a change in what ASH students are wearing? This year there's been a big change in what's in. Fashion is constantly changing, and with the addition to the Alexandria Mall there has been a drastic change in what we consider cool, Bright blue, true red, gorgeous green, royal purple: color matters this year. ln fact, this year should be called the year of color. Jams are splattered with brilliant hues of every color imaginable. Swatches come in every color of the rain- bow. Color is fantastic, and now it's everywhere. Fashion, hair styles, and make- 12 EPIC up are very different from those of '86. Shirts are buttoned to the col- larg no more of the John Travolta look! Oversized clothes are back, especially in sweaters. Skirts have gone from six inches above the knee to six inches below the knee. Silver jewelry is very in , gold is out. Guys want short hair, and girls want a longer look, whereas last year, girls' hair couldn't be short enough, and guys all had to tuck their hair in their collars when Mr. Hutchinson came by. Girls' make up is leaning toward a more natural look. Without a doubt, Fashion '87 reflects a laid back out-look on life. - , A ,L,.'Twf ' Go C005 Oi' 0 0000 Q' ICSC COOUUQ.
