lt's been said again and again: teaching is the most important profession in America. Because all persons in the country - from oyster-huskers to city planners to taxicab-driv- ers - are channelled through the school sys- tems, dedicated teachers like no one else can make an impact on the nation. So it's a relief to know that the supply of teachers is not run- ning out - that young adults today are plan- ning to enter education. As the Future Teach- ers of America membership shows the stimu- lation and learning of tomorrow s schools will certainly equal that of today s. Q . ,,.., ,,,. . . ,wr K EM, . ...IEW K T - fLfl?l5:sit . H. LAWYER: Let's drop in on a scene taking place in the cof- fee room of an office. Violet: l think that pile of papers on my desk grows an inch every night. Rose: I can't read the letter the boss dictated to me yester- day. My shorthand was never too good. Lawyer: These secretaries were obviously not members of FSA in high school. They are lazy, inefficient and uncon- cerned about their work. The girls in FSA at ASH will never have these problems. FSA prepares them well for success- ful lives as secretaries in the hustle and bustle of the mod- ern business world. VERDICT: The evidence just shown was used against Vio' let and Rose. Their sentence is life imprisonment in an office building, chained to their typewriters, with no coffee breaks. CASE CLOSED .k- ee.,,w,m k.-fs1.. L, fi f . f.1,e 3 i ee-,, 1 .,.. FBLA - Aspiring Executives vga Thriving business: it's a stranger's first impression of America, formed not only from our abundant croplands and vital cities but also from the alert, intelligent faces of our businesspersons. The business and agribusi- F. ness departments at ASH acquaint students with the forces behind this impression, from whatever angle they choose to study it - legal, secretarial, mathematical, mechanical, or agricultural. They hope to continue that secure productivity as a characteristic of the United States for a long time to come. , ,, --F ' ' LEFT: OFFICERS: Front Row: Nola Spears, 2nd Vice-President: Marion Brown, President, Cheryl Donahue, lst Vice-President. , ' 2nd Row: Kim Cupples, Reporter, Angela Porche, Parliamenta- L riang Cathy Rogers, Secretary 3rd Row: Craig Murray, Treasurer. ,L-s VA, A X L ABOVE: Front Row: Kim Cupples, Angela Porche, Marion Brown, Susan Wiggins, Nola Spears. 2nd Row: Beverly Carter, Angie LaCour, Cheryl Donahue, Tami Perkins, Susan Richmond, Saundra Henry, Debbie Thrasher, Lisa Schultz. 3rd Row: Iris Davis, Geneva Countee, Kathy John' son, Diane Ellis, Denise Turner, Mimi Nichols, Cathy Rogers, Allison Johnson. 91 Clubs
