A person's heritage is an important part of his life. Heritage includes language, culture, and ideas. lt means not only a nation, but people. Each individual has the privilege of learning about others as he learns about himself. By learning a second lan- guage, a student is given the opportunity to study a new culture. He is able to compare it with his own culture and is able to improve his own life by utiliz- ing his observations. The goal of the foreign lan- guage teachers at ASH is to teach students about others and to help them learn about themselves, not only as members of a certain race or nation, but also as individuals, ' V.
