Ecology - Hcirmony With the Ecirth For several years now we youth have been suffering from and complaining about the older generation's actions. We've found our favorite woods bulldozed, our crawfish creeks polluted, and our blackberry fields subdivided for lots. lt's often been easy to be angry. But it's time for actions to replace our words, time for us to be responsible for the outdoors. The ASH Ecology Club is confronting this challenge f directly, wanting to be accountable for a world ' that's green and clean - so that our children -T--. will have not blame but praise for our manage- W--M we ment of nature. we-,. ,. .. , , .. .. eq, ,,3 ,, . ,, ,. , W Q . Future Voters -- A Lowful Privilege When Student Council election time nears, the Future Voters, under the guidance of Mrs. Boren, plan to man the voting machines. This is just the beginning for a great many who will go on to become involved and concerned citi- zens. They recognize the right to vote as a privilege as well as a responsibility, and they will use it well to help solve the problems in today s world. 1 , JST 'Q' Y' . . . Y-Teens A Knock for Coring Only one word describes Y-Teens: supercali - well, you know what l mean. Ask one of them. She'll pronounce it. Y-Teens love to tackle mountainous things like that, like say- ing Hsupercalifra-- Cwhateverb. Not only will she be able to say it, but she'Il probably say it forward and backward, with perfect ease and grace, as a Y-Teen accomplishes all her serv- ice goals. What would ASH be without its Y- Teens? Not supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Cwhewj, that's for sure.
