Cjhe ALECKQ GIRLS BASKETBALL HE A H S glrls team was a faxr combmatxon but could not be compared wlth the better teams of past years At txmes lf looked as though lt mlght reach undreamed of hexghts of glory but the playmg was never conslstent The team was blessed however w1th some splendxd materlal Captam Roberta Hoy playmg her last year for Alexandna Hrgh was m a large part responsible for the success of the team Roberta IS a born leader and fought hard all the tlme Tess Carter and Helen Robinson two addlttons from George Mason played very well and helped the team a great deal Frances Games performmg as guard for her second year played a splendld floor game Much IS expected from Frances next year were the games wlth Freclertcksburg and Washlngton and Lee Our team rose to nts greatest ach1evement by beatmg both of these teams Awards were grven to Captam Roberta Hoy Frances Games Tess Carter Vlrgmxa Hltt Helen Robmson Allce Haley o Caton Ehzabeth Angel Margaret Hawes Kath erme Moriarty Dorls Dlenelt and Manager Ednth Spaulding The team w1l1 be hard h1t by graduanon Those leavxng are Captam Hoy Carter Hltt Robmson Angel Dxenelt and Spauldmg It IS expected that Games Haley Caron Hawes and Morxarty wlll form the neucleus for next years team 80 l , 9 . , . . . .
