CiaM What was begun is finished and we start anew. We look back without regret to our beginning .... an humble and a meager one in which we shared enthusiasm and dread. We were lonely, but not alone. Yet the years soon passed by. The loneliness is past and we have only our memories of it . . . and other memories .... they come crowding back, different from each of us, yet really all the same. Joy, Anger, Sorrow, Tears .... and most of all Laughter. Each one brings a special event, a special person to our minds; and we think and dream until we ore lost in the reveries of a gay world .... a sad and weary world. Four years, however loyg it seemed to be on that fall day of 1943, appear to have passed quickly and June ' 47 is here. Such a multitude of events cross our minds. Some of us attended the seventh grade here, in the houses on Cavalier Boulevard, but the majority of the class started as Freshmen in the High School Building, under various teachers such as Miss Miriam Miller, who has left us to go back to her beloved Massachusetts. Then Miss Fitzgerald, who left us for Cradock, Miss McGown, who has since become Mrs. Alsup, and we can ' t leave out the Payne sisters. ' There are Misses Lorena Payne, Anne Payne, Bess Payne, and Mrs. Buchanen, who is residing here in the pork. We had some swell times that first year, with everyone rushing around and wondering where to go next. There were so many of the students in the halls when classes were changing, that if you stopped unthinkingly to tie a loose shoelace, about four people would go over your head before you could straighten up. Yep, those were the times! Remember the time when the lunchroom finally opened and everyone was rushing to be the first in line? Ah, those lines! They were so long that by the time you reached the cafeteria, the menu had changed. (From beans to bean soup! )
