itU Sa ketltall Our girls team has developed info one of the best teams since the first organization in the school. The first meeting was held in the gym December 1, 1946, with forty girls eager to make the team. After two weeks of practice, the squad was limited to twenty. The position of captain of the team rotates between Patsy Miller, Marianne Beck, Miriam Drew, the only letter-men returning. These three outstanding girls formed the nucleus for the basketball squad. The team has shown steady improvement throughout the season, under the capable leadership of our new coach, R. L. Stevenson. It is impossible to appreciate the grand work done by our guards during the entire season. Although they never made any points, they kept the op- ponentsfrom adding freely to their score. The team will greatly miss the Seniors who are graduating, but they are looking forward to an even bigger and better years. Our team has shown the highest degree of sportsmanship in the county. We are greatly pleased with their fine reputation. Our motto is Win or Lose, always be a good sport.
