Round-Up Staff Faces First Deadline 1 know I put that picture in here! exclaims Yvonne Petty as she and Mary Foree look for a lost picture. sports layout. Q, 3,63 l05 you sure? asks Don Sims as Dale Hill explains the technique of drawing As the first semester drew to an end, the ROUND-UP staff rushed to meet their first dead- line, January l, 1966. They started in May, i965, by selling ads. Each person was required to sell 35200.00 apiece. The book is published with this money as well as that received from selling year- books and booster ads, and the annual Coronation, which is sponsored by the ROUND-UP staff. Staff members must learn to organize and put together a yearbook. Each member learns to use the camera. New terms, such as bleed-off, gutter, and reverse printing, present themselves to be learned and used. Talking to students and teach- ers to. gather the facts, writing copy, and meeting deadlines are part of the staff's activities through- out the year. Learning and doing keeps ROUND- UP staff busy the whole year. Gotta make that deadline, gotta make that deadline, gotta make that deadline . . . thinks Karla Richardson as she hurries to finish her work.
