Mrs. Ruth Jones Many students 'know Mrs. Ruth Jones because they have been in her class. Some have not had the opportunity to be taught by her, but to all she is a symbol of friendship and helpfulness. Mrs. Jones has aided many students in their struggle to learn math. Lines . . . and faces . . ln a whirl of mass confusion September opened its doors to a record enrollment of 1,575 stu- dents, Due to the excessive over crowded con- ditions, ten classrooms at Stovall Junior High were being used by A.H.S. students. New friends and acquaintances began the school year by participating in varied activities. Class meetings were held for the nomination of officers, and the announcement of class officers was high- lighted during a dance sponsored by the Student Council. Also, enthusiasm prevailed as the stu- dent body showed support for the football team, the school band, the Vaqueras, and for the cheer- leaders at the first pep rally and during all the football games. As September drew to a close the confusion ended as the students settled down to the normal routine of life at A.H.S. ptember's Record Enrollment 5 A , 1 K l 45 5 fjffaf .t t, e1g,
