D S K uruor C add Mdforg ln September of l944 we a class of l oreen freshmen were admutted to the Alden Hugh School We were well represented un qlee club basketball football and pep squad Our hu lught of that year was the fresh man unutuatuon bestowed upon us by the sopho morcs We ll never forget the boys un theur wo puecc sun suuts and the g rls un long leg qed underwear and 5 buckle overshoes eturn we gave them a party later on un the xcar A treasure hunt was the maun event of the party wuth the rcmaunder held un th 9Ym In l945 we wuth l5 members returned to Alden Hugh School That year the class lost rrnest Chrustuansen Vuola Murra and Ro alee Frutz who entered for a short peruod lt was durung our sophomore year that we Oot our furst real stage experuence when th rnture class presented three one act play Law Duggers Jerry Breaks a Date an hrances of those plays us J F as the urate father and Bull Vroman as unnocent luttle jun or Evenungs after play practuce us another gleasant memory Durung the school year Don Pommrehn J F Parker and Walter Krause were football let ter wunners and un basketball Don Pommrehn was the only one lucky enough to make the quad Harold Carstens was our only bas Ja star Lu'la Pungel Paulune Pungel an Jean Schmeduka were also on the gurls bas ketball squad Lulla and Paulune were also on pep squad A few of us felt honored to be asked to ser e at the Junuor Senuor banquet and rfressed un typucal Mexucan clothes We help d carry out the South of the Border theme The food was served wuth no seruous mus haps although we were rather nervous Eat ng un thc sewung rocm followung the banquet was one of the pleasant memorues of the evenung After the banquet a few of the bays went skatung whule some of the gurls went to the prom wuth theur varuous escorts from the Junuor class All pleasant memorues Junuors September l946 There were vnly l3 members left un tne class because Bull Vroman and Ruchard Chantrull both trans ferred to lowa Falls However Geraldune l-lckethuer moved to Alden and uouned our t lass Later on un the year Vurgunua Chrustuan ,ouned us to brung our enrollment to I4 once more On September l8 we sponsored the Junuor Senuor hunt but we werent lucky enough to fund any of the senuor fugutuves so we had to pav for the treats Later on un the eve nung after the maun party was over several carloads of boys and g rls partoak un a water melon feast un some unfortunate farmers cornfueld In boys sports thus year Walter Don and J F were on the football squad and Don and arold un basketball r the g ls u Paul ne and Jean were on the gurls team One of the bug events of the year was the lunuor play un whuch lO of the class were cast un the play Ready Made Famuly e all had a swell tume presentung thus play and 'Jlay practuce was even more enjoyable Leav ung lunes to be learned at the last munute caused our durector Mrs Hanchett a lot of leadaches but we all felt the play was a suc cess Thus play was postponed once due tc suckness un the class but we funally got thungs uroned out and presented ut on November 26 On May l9th l947 the Junuors entertaun ed the Senuors at the Junuor Senuor Banquet leld un the hugh school gym The gym was decorated as a nught club K ' , , , J I ' L J T - 1 ' u - - 1 J V l Q - , ln - - , V L V' - I C l Y I T ,J A 9 - I u ' I . u , 34 . , Be Home By Mudnughtu.
