Something New Hits Cub Football This year was a new experience for everyone in football because they joined teams with the Hudson Trojans. Nine Hudson boys came over to Alcester everyday after school for practice. They also brought the assistant coach, Mike Seivert. With patience and cooperation, they soon became teammates and good friends. The team was lead by Mr. Jerry Joachim and assisted by Mike Seivert. C. Johnson was the leading tackier with 94. J. Gannon was the second Cub runner to gain 1000 yds. in one season. The All- Conference selections were C. Treiber and J. Gannon. S. Snedeker received Honorable Mention. They were busy in the summer deciding on what out- fits they wanted and practicing every week on new cheers and routines. Hudson joined Alcester in football so they had to decide who would be cheerleaders. They chose four from Alcester and two from Hudson. Anita Gannon and Paula VanMeeteren were the Hudson cheerleaders. They were all busy making posters and signs adding life and spirits to their sport.
