HOMECOMING....A LASTING MEMORY! FRONT ROW (L to R): Bounthiene Moumy, Nathan Solberg, Kevin Jacob, Robbie Heiman, Kathryn Treiber, Paula Evanson, Jennifer Nelson, Angie Moore ROW 2 (L to R) Chad Wells, Dwight Gubbrud, Mike Schumacher, Todd Wells, Jill Abraham, Mary Weyen, Angie Brickhouse, Julie Moller The lights dimmed, and the audience hushed as the curtain slowly opened to reveal the stage beautifully decorated by Mr. Carlson and his art classes. The accompanist, Melanie Ronning, softly played the theme song, “Ribbon In the Sky”, as Curt Geveshausen, the Master of Ceremonies, announced the Homecoming candidates and attendants for 1983. Freshman attendants were Julie Moller and Chad Wells; sophomore attendants were Angie Brickhouse and Dwight Gubbrud; and junior attendants were Mary Weyen and Mike Schumacher. Preceding the candidates were Bounthiene Moumy, Nathan Solberg, Angie Moore, and Jennifer Nelson, who were the flower, envelope and crown bearers. The spotlight was then focused on the candidates. They were Jill Abraham and Kevin Jacob; Paula Evanson and Robbie Heiman; and Kathryn Treiber and Todd Wells. As the excitement rose, Curt opened the envelope and revealed that Jill and Todd were the 1983 Homecoming Queen and King. They were robed and crowned by the 1982 King and Queen, Shane McClara and Teresa Limoges. The royalty and the audience were entertained as the various classes and organizations performed a number of skits. Solos were sung by Ross Abraham and Gayle Van Wyk; Carl Treiber and Melanie Ronning sang a duet, and Landra Allen sang the theme song. After the coronation there was the traditional pep rally and bonfire. Did you forget your anti-perspirant, Curt? 6
