The theme was played by Kay Lapour. The Master of Ceremonies, Mark Andersen, announced the King and Queen Steve Hughes and Nina Barnes. The Queen was presented with a dozen red roses. As a remembrance, she gave the two Senior attendants each a rose from her bouquet. The royal court was then entertained with skits and musical numbers by the student body. The audience and royalty then participated in the burning of the A at the bonfire. The following evening the Cubs met the Harrisburg Tigers in a victory of 18 to 6. A large crowd turned out for the dance following the game. Music for the dance was provided by the Outer Limits. The Homecoming weekend was over and time rolled on, but it would be kept in memories From Left, Row 2-Attendants Tim Anderton, Fr., Chris Embrock, Soph., Jeff Pederson, Jr. , Candidates Keith Anderson, Dan Buum, King Steve, Queen Nina, Candidates Charlotte Leafstedt and Rachelle Merrick, Attendants, Belinda Cooper, Jr. Jolynne Crawford, Soph., Robin Embrock, Fr. During the year Mr. Ptak left the staff to go into business and was replaced by Miss Paula Cerney at semester time. The staff collectively has over 100 years of experience in Alcester, a fact which makes for a stable and well seasoned group. Through the year the faculty met every two weeks before school for breakfast and to discuss the scheduled activities and the general running of the school. The teachers lounge was a center of activity during the breaks from classes and preparation times. With the pop corn popper going, coffee cups and pop bottles in hand, they relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company. The faculty was well prepared for classes, kept a firm and friendly classroom atmosphere, and were ready to help when called on. 75 Board And Administration Keep Things Going Decisions were made and carried out through the year by the Alcester School Board, Superintendent Kenneth Wurtz, and Principal Don Zingler, with assistance from Marchi Lingert, Secretary, and Donowan Larson, Business Manager.
