PRlNCIPAL'S MESSAGE The space age is upon us. This age of specialization, instruments, and automa- tion presents unlimited challenge to all stu- dents. Imagine, an automobile with wheels that flies just above the ground. It is very important therefore that we all consider the opportunities, the respon- sibilities, and the required training that is needed to best take advantage of such op- portunities and responsibilities as this age of specialization offers. The general public, the tribe, and your family realize the importance of your ob- taining the necessary training. Through good will, grants and loans, and other encouragements, educational and vocational facilities are being made available to you. It is imperative that you look ahead, seek out these facilities with the help of your teachers and guidance personnel, and devote your best efforts to at- tain the highest possible honors in your chosen field so that you can be proud of your position in your family, your tribe, and your country. SAMU EL ROSENB ERG Principal TO THE CLASS OE I96O The Indianpeople are fast taking their place in the vanguard of an integrated American system. Their leaders have stated repeatedly that the key to con- tinued progress is education and more education. Therefore, the mantle of responsibilities falls on your shoulders because of the educational opportuni- ties that have been provided for you. They recognize, too, that a high school education is not enough. Both tribal councils and the Bureau of Indian Affair s are providing increasingly lib- eral scholarship grants for higher education of all types. Few students have so many op- portunities. It is our hope that you will respond to the challenge pre- sented by our people and for your people. Our best wishes go with you. V. L. BEGGS Area Director of Schools --,.
