CAROLINE HARRIS began existence in Temple Texas October ll l897 She received her early schooling in Waco Texas and In l908 she made her way to Albuquerqu This wmsome lassle is rather frail but very studious and quiet She of course enjoys the study of Physics fmost girls do She IS quite fond of music and likes to dream at times lqhe glory of the school room appeals to Caroline and already she has muted the I6 class to visit her school In the Golden Years to rome before Prince Charming Flope appear RALPH M D HILL November I4 in Gallup New Mexico there wa foisted upon defenseless society a lively bit of humanity lnhis member afterwards became known as Ralph M D Hill ln the natural course of events Ralph as sxsted by his family moved to Albuquerque and some hme afterward entered A H S Ever smce if there has been any Job requiring more of pep than it offered of honor Ralph has been the goat He is noted for three things industry bashful ness and the highest general average In school Ralph expects to go through a to make Goethals look like an amateur brick layer that s what we expect too Although Ralph has not entered many of the school activities he could always be found rooting at every contest the A H S entered He is made of the stuff that gets there and from now on we will look for his name in the Who s Who column or the New York Police Roll-of heroes Class Editor I6 Cliditors Note He was too modest to write his own pedigree I did It PRISCILLA ESPY NEWCOMER gifted and sweet a daughter of the gods and most divinely fair is an Albuquerque girl born uly l l897 As her initials spell Pen she is expected to lne up to the suggestion and be a wrrter Priscilla is studious and her mental forces attract only that which is worth while to her Her habitual quiet is often broken by seasons of Jollity She thought it best to go to Topeka the first part of her Senior year but soon realized that old things are best and has returned to add to the glory of this record class of I6 Pnscilla says her sole ambition is to die happy wonder what she means? HORTENSE Vioi.ET SWITZER, the nightingale of the High School, is a damsel of grace and beauty who gives promise in voice of a prima donna who will some day demand wide recognition. This sweet singer sang her first notes in Albuquerque, June l, l898, and this choice spot of the Southwest has been her home ever since. Her happy temperament wins warm friendships and echoes in her music. A leader in the High School, a favorite in society, and captain of the basketball team, Hor- tense is in every sphere at her best. As the ambitious mother of Esmeralda in the Class play she was a great success. Everybody loves H. V. S. of the A. H. S. Baskezball, 'l 5, 'l6: Glee Club, 'l 3, 'l4, 'l 5. 'l6: Vice-President of Class, 'l6g Staff. 'l 5. WALTER NELSON PARKHURST is a son of the Golden West , born in Albuqutrque, February 2, l898. In early childhood, he went to the Effete East and attended the Friends School in Brooklyn, N. Y. But he couldn't endure life long away from Albuquerque, and came back this year to finish his course in A. H. S. Walter is known as Pawky and Piecrust. He is an athlete, has a han- kering for girls, and possesses a genial disposition. One of the seven wonders of the High School is Pockie's marvellous pomjzadour. He is cunning and amusing when he doesn't know it. He will in the fu'ure lie head of the Equitable Life of N. Y. since his ambition is to be comptroller of a life insurance company. Basket- ball. 'l6. HAZEL MARCUERITE KIEKE, a dimpled blonde beauty, chose Albuquerque as her birthplace, June l4, l897. She has had the good sense to remain and be educated here. Hazel's genial manner and good looks are the pride of many. Her name is a synonym for popularity, Her hobby is one-stepping. Her record is. good in class room and at five hundred parties. Hazel is one who does not need to wait for leap year. If she enjoys single blessedness for long it will be her own fault. Her ambition is to globe trot. Clee Club, 'l 3, 'l4: Basketball. 'l 3. I8
