GIRLS' GLEE CLUB GIRLS' GLEE CLUB. Row One: Joyce Stump, Karene Young, Kay Ann Young, Becky Roscoe, Patsy Ray, Louetta Gorsuch, Nancy Prickett, Penny Prickett, Beverly Taylor. Row Two: Shirley Hickman, Elizabeth Elser, Linda Buckles, Jean Gappinger, Kay Sta- ton, Roberta Moore, Kay Zumbrun, Barbara Younis, Mr. Horine. Row Three: Barbara Snyder, Mavis Conrad, Betty Crothers, Marilyn Richman, Delores Long, Nesta Schmuck, Judy DeGroff, Betty Jo Kelham, Norma Gage. Music is a universal language and the students have shown a great interest in it this year. Our Department consists of various organizations, such as: junior and senior band, girls' chorus, boys' chorus, mixed chorus, quartette, sextette, and ensemble. The band has played for all home basketball games, has given a fall and a spring concert, participated in the county concert, ground breaking ceremony for the new Methodist Church, and the Decoration Day Parade. ' The girls' chorus has twenty-seven members and the boys' chorus has eleven mem- bers. Both choruses have participated in the fall and spring concerts. The accompanist for the girls' chorus is Becky Roscoeg for the boys' chorus, Mary jewel McClanahan. The quartette, composed of Larry Pressler, Ted Shisler, Avon Schwab, and Bob Miser, has participated in many programs this year. It has been very popular with its audiences. It also received first place in the District Music Contest at Fort Wayne, and second place in the State Music Contest at Indianapolis. The girls' sextette has appeared on several programs this year. They received second place in the District Music Contest at Fort Wayne. The mixed Ensemble made an excellent showing in the Fort Wayne District Music Contest, winning superior rating and first place. In the State Music contest at Indianapolis they Won a rating of excellent, and second place.
