BASKETBALL The 1952-'53 team got off to a slow start this season by losing three of its first four games, by which the team lived up to the foremost expectations of the fans. After this, the Trembling Trojans settled down to a well-earned 10-game winning streak. The winning streak included the Noble County Tournament crown for the second consecutive time. The tournament games were as follows: Albion-Wolflake, Albion- Cromwell, Albion-Avilla. After the County tourney, the Trojans continued winning, but the winning was brought to an abrupt halt by the neighboring Whitley County champs, South Whitley. Although we were beaten in the first game of the Sectional Tourney by a team we had already defeated, Shipshewanna, still, we consider this a good season for we turned in one of the best seasonal records that A. H. S. has ever seen. We finished our basketball season March 17, 1953, with an annual athletic ban- quet, given by the mothers of the athletes. Mr. Millner, coach of the Elkhart High School basketball team, gave an interesting after dinner speech. After this came the awarding of the letters, sweaters. and individual awards to those who had earned them. TEAM STATISTICS 1952-'53 Q x 38 Continued Seasos Wolflake .
