CHEVRON Up, Up, and Away went Advisor, Mrs. Landfear, Co-Editors, M. Hicks and L. Spalla, Assistant Editors, A. Ciarrizzo and D. Steele, and Literary Editor, E. Perry, to Syracuse. What were they after? Brainey brainstorms and catchy copy, of course. The most unforgetable outing also brings to mind warm cider, house detectives, Don's skill in walking up and down hotel Walls, and a wrench and hammer. Money - lettuce - moola - whatever you call it, we've got to get some fast! Sydne Brownell, head of Promotion Staff, can be seen occasionally in deep medita- tion about this problem. She is torn between her devotion to the year book and the paper as to which one can use her brilliant ideas first - Variety Show, Cake Walk, dances. Mary jackson, head of the Circulation Staff, also finds this money business a problem. To increase sales, she promoted a sail boat race Con paper, naturallyl. Scads of money from these two staffs are turned over to joan Bates, Business Manager, whose mattress is now bulging at the seams. I'll bring it tomorrow. Will next week be time enough for mine? Connie and Karl, after extending deadlines indefinitely, got all their ads after collecting about fifty of them themselves with Amie Mori, Senior Editor, helping them. Even though Shirley Miller, head of the Typing Staff, had a difficult time reading Liz's handwriting Cespecially when Liz couldn't read it herselfD, write-ups were handed in, typed up, and handed over to Eddy's in the nick of time. Now that the hectic days of pictures, ads, and write-ups have passed, the Editors hope that the students of Albion Central will enjoy this year's Chevron. The tale of the cat would be minus a cat except for the creative ability of Robert Sadowski. Top Row 2nd Row: CIRCULATION STAFF T. Green, R. Klingenberger, P. Kelley, M. Daniels, J. Bigger, S. The students had this in mind when they elected lklarcia Hicks President of the Student Council. Other officers are Ronnie llarling, Vice-President, Ioan Bates, Recording Secretary, lVlary jackson, Corresponding Secretary, and Ceraldine Kettle, Treasurer. Mr. Anderson and lXlr. llill acted as advisors. The students started the football season off wearing sporty pins sold by thc Student Council. At Christmas Time, SC stood for Santa Claus and we sold memo boards. This year marked the beginning of the Orleans County Council ol' Student Associations, in which our President served as Secretary. This council was not only a success socially, but also our officers put their Iohn Hancock on its constitution. As we go to press, definite plans are being made for the Monitor System which will give the students a chance to use discipline among themselves and the Publicity Committee and Traffic and Safety Council are planning a Safety Week. As the second girl president of the Student Council, Marcia has proved that the weaker sex is very capable of carrying out executive duties. 24
