STUDENT COUNCIL We have Hne directors this year. Student Council had nothing to fear. No Hnzola scenes for usg they put up with no fuss! Their monitors sounded All Clear! All that were lacking this year were campaign buttons! There were posters and speeches rivaling the spirit of a third-term election during the Student Council cam- paign. Laverne Kast was chosen Presidentg lanice Barnum, VicefPresidentg and Virginia Cminski, Secretary-Treasurer. With officers installed, the Directors,'l better known as the Student Council, started production on their show, The School Year by carrying on a drive to enroll the pupils in the junior Red Cross. Next, on the entertainment side, they staged the annual Football Dance, on December 22. All members of the Student Council have taken part in the discussion concerning the proposed Youth Center in Albion. A number of the members represented the interests of the high school students and their viewpoints on the question at a meeting of the Youth Center Committee which was held at the Court House. Student opinion was polled through class meetings at which Laverne Kast presided. Thus, Student Council has, this year, acted as a link between the high school and the community. If Oscars were awarded for directing, our Student Council would certainly carry off a prize. is 17
