Yi -we ll Q ,, ' f iff ,, ' 41 4, 4 -V.,-In ora If there's one area that is subject to constant change more than any other, then that place must be in the field of science where scientific discoveries are constantly being made. Thus the emphasis of the bi- ology department is on research, the basis for all scientiic advances. Members of the biology department have tried to present their own research to their students in an attempt to interest them in this area. For biology majors they have also offered seminars that are research or- iented. They have also been considering how they could best change and improve science teaching in general. Beta Beta Beta, the biology honorary, has also aimed to show what advances are being made in biology. During the past year they have brought resource people from the field of medicine and from grad- uates schools to discuss biology related vo- cations. fLeftl Miss Dixon and Dr. Mortenson analyze Bacterial cultures as a part of student research studies. fAboveD Dr. Catana and Dr. Dillery look over intricate equipment. 19
