Junior Class History When xxe, the mighty class of 1943, started on our journey through the land of High School in that glorious Territory of Education, we were weak, for we had knowledge neither of Latin, nor of Algebra. We lacked those vital elements of literature, history, and geometry: therefore, our complexions more a trifle green. Our journey to he a long one was divided into four parts. We chose Russell Peterson to convey our jalopy over the rough road of the Province commonly called Lincoln, which made up the first por- tion of our travels. Suddenly we found ourselves in a strange new country, and when we consulted the bulletin board, we found that we were in that vast domain called A. H. Lloyd Morgan presided at the wheel, and we proc-eerletl upon our quest. We chugged through the ruts of mathematics, sped over the smooth stretches of assemblies, ploughed through the mud and drifts oi' biology. English and chemistry, occasionally get- ting stuck out always struggling free and continuing our journey. Betty Smith, who hitched on some- xi here about halt-way through this second lap oi' our journey, went to the National Music contest and brought home a new paint job for our faithful vehicle in the form of a Number 1 rating for her violin solo. We started upon the third lap ol' our journey with Bill Murphy in the driver's seat, and set out to explore that part of the country occupied by those people known a.s Juniors. We were refreshed, for we had ieasted upon the fruit of learning, quenched our thirst at the fountain oi knowledge, and slept soundly for many lung hours in Study Hall. The many noteworthy individuals we had among us have given our fliver quite a bit of zip. Dick Bettis has proved to be a very energetic and zestful cheer leader and James Bell brought dignity to our ranks by becoming Drum Major, Our boys have proved to be very dependable in earning places among that honored group who bear the privilege of wearing an A , Those oi' our number possessing theatrical ability produced a very successful class play. The Junior-Senior Banquet sent our jalopy zooming into the fourth and last part of our journey.

Sophomore Class History In September, 1941, one hundred twelve fresh- men entered into the Alhia senior high school, their first stepping stone in the halls of higher education. Some of the athletes who came over with this class have shown up brilliantly in their first year of higher competition. Other students are upholding the tra- dition of former sophomores in the classroom.
