GIRLS RIP UP THE COURT Lisa Bell Jeannette Chikami Denise Michelson Shirley Mason Debbie Mentaberry Theresa Owens Jeri Schwartz Betty Seward SEASON SCORES The Lowry varsity girls' basketball team really had an outstanding season. 37 Carlin 38 Their season record was 8 wins, 2 losses - best ever in the history of Lowry High 28 Carlin 45 School. They were ranked 1 1 from the North going into the State Tournament. 41 Lovelock 19 The first game, they defeated Stewart by a score of 63-44. The second game, 84 McDermitt 9 they were defeated by Fallon by a score of 33-32 in a controversial last second 48 Battle Mountain 25 shot. As a result, they finished third in State with a 9-3 overall record. 68 McDermitt 8 The team averaged 52.7 points per game. SCORES Lowry's Varsity Volleyball team had 4 record and placing second in the Northern Division zone tournament. On February 19th they traveled to Yerington for the state tournament. They defeated Stewart but fell to undefeated Incline in their second round of play. Lowry certainly hadn't seen such a great volleyball team in a long time and it is not likely that there will be another one like it within the next few years. 2 A 5 5 ,1 25 .
