It is the task ol' Mr. Hill to coordinate the various functions ol' tlte school. Providing good leadership and direction to both tlte academic and activity program is tlte aint ol' Mr. Louis .-Xdolphsen, senior high principal. Mr. Adolphsen works closely with tlte seniors concerning a lurther educattion. Mr. Vernumd Andersen, junior high princi' pal, plans the curriculutn and instruction lor junior high students as they begitt their years ol' high school. Faculty and Admini tration Striving to make .-Xllmert Lea High School at smoothly functioning institution with a high acaclemic recortl, the laculty and aclministration spent every clay throughout the l80 days improv- ing the school. 'l'he athninistration was in charge ol' inmn- erahle lunctions. Their most important one was to keep the school functioning properly at all times. ln aclclition to this, they kept accurate accounts ol' attendance. finances ol' the school and gave counsel to many ol' the students. Many teachers not only actetl as peclagognes to the students, but also hecame clone lrientls antl counselors. This was prohahly one ol' the most important functions ol' the lC2lt'llL'l'5 throughout the year ol' 1957-58. 'liC2ll'llCl'S were olten the object ol' much vehe- mence from the students. but the faculty actecl only as score keepers lor sttulenls alter they hail taught them the lnnclamentals ol' their clans. School was not a place lot' a social gathering, lmt rather a place to give the stttclents a keen intellect and to prepare them lor their l'uttn'e livek. Provide for Prosperou Future Mr. Irvitt Anderson. who has completed his second year in the Albert I.ea School System, serves in the capacity ol' administrative assistant. I-Iis many duties include taking the school census, supervising all btts transportation and the cafeteria lunch program plus the budgeting and the general Iinance ol' the school system. .Xlthougli his job consumes much ol' his time, Mr. Anderson linds titne lor active membership in Rotary Club and the Ifirst Lutlteran Church. Board ol' edttcation members are as follows: Dr. l.eon Steiner, chairman: Mr. 'I'heodore Mun- son, treasurer: Mrs. Dorothy Hellie, clerk: Dr. Rudolph Gandrud, director: Mr. Hlilliam Picka- vance, director attd Dr. Clayton Nelson, director. 'I'hose mentbers most recently elected are Dr. Candrud and Mr. Pickavance. Mrs. Hellie, the lirst woman to serve on the board, is com- pleting her lilth year with the group. 'I'he school board tneets every second and Iourth 'I'uesday ol' each tnonth. Its members are elected lor terms ol' three years. 'I'wo mem- bers come up lor election each year tlnts main- taining a constant level ol' experience. Highlighting the past year was the dedication ol the hlolm Halverson Elementary School and the Clarks Grove Elementary School. Plans lor a soutltwest junior high school and a southwest elementary school were also com- pleted. These school are expected to be ready for the opening ol' the I958-I959 school term.
