While in the eighth grade, we were proud to have as our classmate, Antoinette Palumbo, champion speller of our district and fourth in the Detroit Inietropolitan Area. We celebrated by having a spag- etti dinner and party in her honor. In our Freshman year, after surviving initiation, we sponsored a succ- essful after school dance and went on an enjoyable class picnic to end the year. This year we gave the Sophomore Sizzle Dance which not only made money for us but gave everyone in school the opportunity to have fun. In the oratorical field we were prominent, having entered several students in the school contest and Kay lieinlander represented us in the district meet- ing. We are, as a class, stubborn and generally unco-operative but individ- ually determined to overcome this hazzard and become an ambitious co- operative class, determined not only to accomplish what we set out to do but also to have fun while doing it. We, the Freshman year fortunate in would lil-te to Judie Hetzman, Class Secretary HISTORY' OF 'I950 class of 1950, in the years of Junior High School and our have had a lot of fun along with our scholastic worK.l.Ie were having luiss Emery as our homeroom teacher and sponsor. We thank her for her helpful advice and wonderful co-operation. In the seventh grade the class had a Valentine party and Christmas party in which Valentine and Christmas gifts were distributed. In the eighth grade the class had a school spelling champion, Ronnie Shaffer, who also participated in the District Finals. There were also the usual rounds of parties--Christmas, Valentine, and Halloween. At the end of the SCl'100l term we packed lunches and drove out to Walled Lake where everyone had a wonderful time. Our Freshman year began with the traditional initiation. After we survived that we began our high school career with discussions,debates and hard study. The class sponsored two dances: Jive Junction and The saddle Shoe Stomp - To end the year successfully we are planning a trip out to 'Jailed Lake to say good-by to a year of study and fun.
