. Cast Pleases Audience Charlie's Aunt , a situation comedy, was the fall play presented by Golden Mask. Set in the 1880's, the play is about two college students. Jack and Charlie, who invite their sweethearts, Kitty and Amy, to lunch. They intend to use Charlie's aunt from Brazil as the chaparone, but when she fails to show up, they convince their friend. Lord Fancourt Babberly, to impersonate her. In the confusion that follows, we find Jack's father and Amy's uncle falling in love with the disguised Lord Babberly. Then the real aunt, Donna Lucia, shows up, adding to the comedy. The story ends happily however, providing the audience with a night of hilarious entertainment.
