SE NI O R CLASS Begtnnmg thexr hlgh school career 1n the fall of 1950 the Class of 53 began the1r record makrng and breakmg hrstory wtth typlcal sophomore determnnatnon and enthuslasm They first organxzed under ames Pound and proved therr abxhty to work together by taklng second place rn the Krng and Queen of Hearts competrtron The Devrl to Pay brought hrst place rn Class Acts to the Sophomores a very unusual v1ctory As unrors the class elected Ernle Smrth to grve orders That year they won the clothrng drrve showmg the same sp1r1t wrth whxch they had begun junxor candxdates were crowned Famlly was well recerved two evenmgs rn March A second v1ctory rn Class Acts went to the Class of 53 for Danger Imposter A.ct1v1t1es for the Class were fmrshed w1th the trad1t1onal r Sr Prom grven for the graduatmg class ames Pound was agam elected to lead the class 1n ICS greatest year He was supported by V1ce Pres Gary Strunk Secretary Lola Rldenour and Treasurer Marxlyn Chandler Hot Ice the senror class play brought them more laurels and therr Chrrstmas Prom Moonlxght and Mlstletoe was an outstand mg success The Chrrstmas clothrng dnve v1ctory went to the sentors after a hard fought competmon In the sprtng an orrgmal class act proved that th1s great class had reta1ned the enthusxasm Wrth whlch It began xts career The trad1t1onal Skxp Day near the end of school brought the act1v1t1es of the class to a wonderful close The success of our class could not have been so great rf we hadn t been graced wnth exceptlonal advxsors Mrs Irene Parent and Mr Lee Cardon d1d a great deal for us and to them We Say MANY THANKS JAMES POUND GARY STRUNK LOLA RIDENOUR MARILYN CHANDLER MARY JENKS R p I r jli ay? ,' Q President Vace President 3 , . . . .
