Principal's Ulessaye The Albany High School Annual Staff and its Faculty Advisors, Mrs. Mary Futch and Mr. G. B. Howell, have again given us a publication of which we can always be proud. I am sure that all teachers and students share with me the feeling of sincere appreciation for the tireless efforts and endless hours of work which have gone into the making of this annual. While you can spend many pleasant hours both now and in the future years enjoying the pictorial record of this school year, I am confident that you students realize that there are other memories which accompany those stamped upon these pages. The nature of these memories you determine in your daily schedule, your attitude toward your work and your seriousness of purpose in the program set before you. MR. HAROLD E. McNABB, Principal Perhaps there are those of you wrho are unaware of all the plans and preparation that have gone into providing unlimited opportunities for you to achieve up to the limit of your ability. The Albany High School Faculty now numbers seventy-four teachers, twenty-five of w'hom have Master’s Degrees. The majority of our teachers have several years of successful teaching experience to their credit. In addition to ample offerings, the professionally well-trained staff, and guidance sendees, the citizens of Albany and the Board of Education have provided for you a two million dollar building and sufficient equipment and plant facilities with which it is possible for you to prepare yourselves for future wfork and pleasure. Albany High School has been accredited by the Southern Accrediting Commission since its organization in 1914. However, I must remind you that education is a personal matter, and that none of the above mentioned people or things can help you to become a better educated person unless you are willing to pay the price through consistent hard work, cooperation, and an earnest desire to achieve. We can provide the opportunity, the motivation, the encouragement and guidance; but beyond these it is up to you. I commend those of you who have accepted the challenge and who have achieved some degree of success. I want to remind all of you that I am proud of Albany High School, its faculty and students. I am glad we have this yearbook—a permanent record of eventful days at Albany High School. 12
