' gzaupgss June, l948, was a big day in fhe lives of fhe class of '53, for on fhe I0fh of fhaf monfh fhey said good-bye fo fheir grammar school days and hello fo a new experience in high school. From Cornell, Cordornices and Marin, I25 sfudenfs sfarfed af Albany High in fhe fall of '48. Since fhen many have moved or goffen married and a few have joined fhe class. Ninefy-five of fhe original enfranfs grad- uafed fhis Spring. ln fhe Low I I fhis class elecfed fheir firsf group of offi- cers. Dan Riggio served as Presidenf, Jim Giacoma, vice- presidenlg Joan Angelo, secrefary, and Norifa Neilsen as freasurer. If was during fhis year fhaf fhe class purchased fheir senior rings. Then again in fhe Low I2 a new group of officers were elecfed. Dick Andrews, presidenfg Ed Berfoffi, vice-presidenf: Bev Odegard, secrefary, and Cookie Zupo, freasurer. Since fhere were many acfivifies during fhe end of fhe ferm especially, fhe officers as well as fhe resf of fhe class were kepf busy. Memorable feafures of fheir high school days were fhe grand opening of fhe swim- ming pool in I950, wifnessing fhe dedicafion of fhe foofball field in I952, and Dan Riggio parficipafing in fhe dedicafion af fhe field house of fhe plaque in memory of fhe Albany boys who gave fheir lives in World War Il.
