MR. RUSSELL P. DIEHL B.A. Ripon College, M.E. University of Colorado. Social Problems, American History. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Every individual at one tine or another finds it very difficult to make a decision. The reason is that his fear of doing the wrong thing outweighs his self confidence. Let us grant that the making of decisions is not an easy matter. However, we must remember that a decision made with great care and deliberation is almost always better than no decision at all. Avoid postponing your decisions indefinitely and take those steps that lead to success. The denocractic way of life is well exemplified in the schools. Decause of this democratic idea of-tho individual, he is n t cn y taught but has the actual experience to make decisions for himself. The schools today offer not only the basic fundamentals of learning, but also the qualities of moral aid spiritual values, brotherhood in mankind, vocational guidance and the maturity that is so necessary in everyday living. Therefore, both goncml nncl vocational education are Interdependent in the vital social processes of preparing for life. An individual is known for the work that he docs and his vocation permeates his entire life: it determines his social status and prestige, ' is residence, his friends and his entire outlook on life, ' hen an individual is so prepared for these situations, he will be a part ?.r building c better world tomorrow.
