The Dean’s Message To the Class of 1972: I believe the word LOVE is still an in word with your generation. I’d like to encourage you to show LOVE for your profession after graduation by continuing to LEARN, by joining your pharmacy ORGANIZATIONS, by VOLUNTEERING for community health-related projects and by EDUCATING the lay public about the proper use of drugs. The need for continuing to LEARN is self-evident since, right up to your last lectures here at the college, we have been hard pressed to bring to you the latest of the rapid changes in pharmacy and in other phases of the health care system. You must continuously keep up this learning process. Pharmacy has its best chance to make itself heard through strong ORGANIZATIONS. Join your local, state, national and specialty groups to make them strong. You can contribute to your community by VOLUNTEERING to serve on narcotic control guidance committees, sanitation boards and the like. Through speaking to groups of students from elementary to college level and to community groups such as the PTA and the Rotary and Lions Clubs you can be helping in EDUCATING the general public about health matters. Leave ACP with LOVE — a Learner, Organizer, Volunteer, Educator. Walter Singer 20
