Future Farmers of America QFFAj has had an active first year at AHS. Developing knowledge and ability in agriculture as well as leadership qualities is the aim of FFA. Activities included a tea to inform the faculty of its purposes, selling Christmas trees, Ranch Way Day, john Deere Day, Rocky Mountain, Oyster fry, basketball game with Monte Vista FFA, a trip to New Mexico State Fair, and state and district judging contests. cludes each person starting a farm, working to increase it each year. FHA is an organization for anyone who has taken a home economics course. The main pur- poses of FHA are to provide opportunities for self development, preparation for family and com- munity livingg and to develop interest in home economics, home economic careers, and related occupations. Its main goal is to help youth as- sume their roles in society through home eco- nomics education in areas of personal growth, family life, vocational preparation and communi- ty involvement. Some of this year's achievements were making a quilt to donate to the Nursing Home and attend the state FHA convention in Ft. Collins. L. Ll Ke Club Key Club, open to all AHS boys, and sponsored by Alamosa Kiwanis, became active this year after two years of inactivity. Community service, school service, and aid to the aged were finaned by money raising projects.
