Go, Go bananas, was the familiar cry of the Alamosa High School girl's track team as they ran by in their bright yellow seat suits. Coached by Char Cary, the 1974-75 team, which consisted of 10 freshmen, 3 sophomores, 1 junior, and 2 seniors, did the best of any previous teams. They won two third place trophies, one in Lamar out of 12 teams, and another in Salida out of 11 teams. The team held two home track meets hosting Monte Vista and Wheatridge. At District meet in Fountain, Terrie Bott took Coach ' Charlene Cary :QQ if +1 .-... A f'.Ea ' iffy Q a X x X 51. t W : - 1 sry: mf-5 max. .1 -- ' third in the 880, qualifying her for state. Natalie Motz qualified by taking third in the 100 yard dash, second in the 220 yard dash and by being ni the 880 medly which took second. Brenda Wilson took first in the 440 yard dash, first in the 110 yard hurdles, thfid in the high jump and also was in the 880 medly Other qualifying members of the 880 medly team were Kay Gulley and Betsy Turano. At the State meet held at Aurora Hinkley High School, Brenda Wilson took third in the 440. The rest of the young team showed promise for next year! -s...v..
