University of Colorado Alamogordo High School has good reason to be proud of its music department. Each of the divisions of this department participates in various activities every year. During the first semester the orchestra, choruses, and bands gave pleasing concerts. The marching band boosted the morale of Alamo's Tigers and football fans. The chorus and string ensemble presented their annual Christmas feature, selections from The Messiah. All-State also provides a cultural outlet for this de- partment which always has several of its members in the All-State vocalists' and instrumentalists' list.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE ln this day of the shrinking globe we are more proud than ever of our foreign language department. Beginning and advanced courses in both Latin and Spanish are offered now. Both competitive sports and intramurals are offered for boys, while girls may participate in intramurals and the sportsday, field day, and night-league activities sponsored by the Girls' Athletic Association.
