This year Heights students have fallen into the some relationship rit- uals as years before. The vocabulary has changed bacls from going out to dating , The patterns are all too obvious. Sophomore girls are being courted by Senior guys, Senior cou- ples are springing up everywhere while the Freshmen remain single and the Juniors fall everywhere in between. lt almost became a crime to be dateless, Some people believe in playing the field while others want to have nothing to do with the opposite sex until they have completed their high school career. Both of these might be hard to believe with all the flirting and Cupid's arrows being fired, ln a poll recently talsen, students said lunch was the best time to get to lsnow each other, followed by the classroom and through mutual friends. Long distance relationships have also affected a few students. One student said, lt's hard but if it is real love our relationship will go on forever! Another student believes long distance affairs are impossible saying, The guy cheated on me left and right, he stopped calling because of 'phone bills '. You can malse up your mind on this one, All in all, love fills the air and brealss some hearts Your grades may have slipped because of it, you may have even experienced temporary insan- ity, but it's well worth itll Student Life - 19

What Do We Wear? ABOVE: Senior girls show off '87-'88 styles. BELOW: Josie Meador and Beth Bailey are dressed as typical Heightsters . ABO VE Curly hair has put girls into a frenzy. ALSO ABOVE McClellan and Martita Hunt- ress display glasses as fashion statements. :sg l Heights Has No Stylel This year at Heights individualism and varied tastes were brought out by the clothes we were wearing. There was no one wright way to dress. Some people stuck with the traditional preppy look while others sported the more updated Vogue loolss. Layers have been left behind and more simple two-piece outfits Student Life have become more evident. For guys, faded blues and pastel oxfords were the uniform. For girls, minis and high collared shirts and sweaters were a favorite. Accessories were also a biggie. Girls wore more jewelry, belts, hair bows, patterned hose, and carried purses than ever before. For guys as well as girls, bother- some contacts tools their place. Horn- rimmed and bright colors were the most popular frames. Through their specs, these stu- dents could still tell that: PADS COME AND FADS PASS BUT ALAMO HEIGHTS STILL HAS CLASS .
