NOTRE DAME BASKETBALL HEAD COACH DIGGER PHELPS Kbottom right! goes over the fine points of basketball at the basket- ball seminar. When students came back from vacation, they were concerned about their grades, the new 70 passing grade, limitations on absences and ABX's, and more stringent requirements for extra- curricular activities. During the first few weeks of school, Princi- pal Barney Newton spoke to students in special assemblies to explain the changes. While San Antonio remained fairly dry, up to 20 inches of rain fell in Brownsville, causing extensive flood- ing. Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Lebanon was still unsettled, as another terrorist attack on the U.S. embassy occured in Bei- rut.
