ASU Welcomes F reshmen 8L Transfer Students to Campus Alabama State University held its Orientation Program for Freshmen and Transfer students on September 7-13. The program provided an' opportunity for students to become better acquainted with ASU. The program coordinators were from Student Affairs, the University Counsel- ing Center and University College. There were about 834 students en- rolled in the freshmen class. Dr. Thom- son was in charge of testing. The purpose of the tests was to determine the stub dent's level of performance. After testing and financial aid breif- ings, students met Miss ASU and SGA officers. Later that evening tryouts for men and women tennis teams were held. The next day, after a full day of regis- tration, students attended a gel ac- quainted dance which was held in the North Dining Hall. Other orientation activities included: a pep rally. a volleyball game and a foot- ball game.
