Seatedet-nneth McPhe-arson. CHOIR CONCERT CLOSES WEEK The. final event in the ARTS FESTIVAL-WOBKSHOP-B? was a concert by the College Choir under the direction of Dr. Ralph E. Simpson, with Mrs. Gren neta Simpson serving as piano accompanist. The conductorts format for the program was set in three parts. Part I consist- ed of some of the most difficult short pieces in choral literature. Included Were: hDomine Fili Unigeniteh t0nly Begotten Son of Cody which is the sev- enth section from the ttGloria Mass', by the great Baroque master Antonio Vivaldi. Jesus, joy of Malfs Desiringy by the culminatm 0f the Baroqer Era -J. S. Bach. And three works by the contemporary American composer Rant dall T humpsun. Part II was plainly entertainment music. The closing set consisted of spirituals, and an arrangement of ttWere You There by Dr. Simpson. The soloist was Miss Beverly Bradford, a junior music major. 151
