DEDICATION TIME, ENERGY, INTELLECT, PATIENCE, LOVE AND SINCERITY 0F PURPOSE ARE AMONG THE NECESSARY VIRTUES OF ONE WHO BENDERS SERVICE. MRS. THELMA AUSTIN RICE, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS HAS CONE FAR BE- YOND THE CALL OF DUTY, WHILE SERVING AS ADVISOR TO THE HORNET YEARBOOK STAFF. THIS YEAR AN ILLNESS INTERRUPTED HER ADVISORSHIP. NEVEETHELESS, SHE KEPT IN TOUCH, STILL ADVISING AND CONSULTING 0N PEBTINENT MATTERS. WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE DIVIDED THE SPAN OF LIFE INTO SEVEN ADVENTURES. THE THIRD HE BELIEVED, TJOMES WITH OUR FINAL GRADUATION WHEN WE DON OUR AE- MOR AND TAKE UP OUR SHIELD TO DO BATTLE WITH LIFE, WHEN WE VENTURE FORTH INTO THE WORLD TO SLAY DRAGONS, BUILD CASTLES AND SEEK HAPPINESS . THE SIXTH, HE BELIEVED COMES AFTER WE HAVE GIVEN OUR CHILDREN ALL WE CAN GIVE, RE- SULTING IN ALWAYS HAVING THEIR LOVING THOUGHTS AS THE CHILDREN EMBABK ON AN UNKNOWN SEA WITH NOTHING TO GUIDE THEM BUT FAITH.u AND, THE FINAL ADVENTURE IS THE ONE WE ALL MUST TAKE, BRAVEHEARTED, WITH OUR ABMOR UN- STAINED, WE HOPE, AND A CLORIOUS RECORD ENGRAVED UPON OUR SHIELD. HER IDEALISM, HEB WILLING SACRIFICE TO EDUCATION SO THAT EDUCATION MIGHT PBEVAIL. WE BEAR FOR OTHERS HER RESPONSIBILITY FOR US TO BE AT EVERY TURNING OF THE ROAD, THE STRONG ARM THAT HELPS OTHERS ONWABD WITH THEIR LOAD. THEREFORE, TO ONE WHO IS LOVED SO MUCH AND STANDS AS A GIANT AMONG MAN- KIND: WE, THE 'KHORNET STAFF OF 1966, RESPECTFULLY DEDICATE OUR ANNUAL TO MRS. THELMA AUSTIN RICE.
