With the two formal commencement: of each calendar year, this book becomes the second in the series of Grddmtre: Buck: and the fits: of the two to he issued for the 1938 calendar year. The record of eommeneements for the State Teachers College goes back to the year at 1880 when the school was in operation at Marion II the Lincoln Normal University and when in May of that year six diplomas were awarded by the late President William Bum Paterson. There were eight graduating classes at Marion tl880-1887j. The wheat was moved to Montgomery in 1337 and the first class in Montgomery received diploma: in um. The mentement began in May 1922 to be the oeeuim for the awztdhag of di- plum not only from the old High Schonl-Normzl at later High School but also from the two-jttttior junkie College course.
