Une 7)irecior s Jliessaqe One no longer sleeps for twenty years before he becomes like Ol ' Rip. He merely closes his eyes and mind for a few minutes or even a few seconds. Father Time is no longer and old man carrying the scythe; he wears the garb of an astronaut. Within the last few months many changes have been wrought within the nation, the state, and within the framework of our little college family. To many of us, they are mean- ingless moves. But to others, they are symbols of a new look for Father Time. Can one survive in a world where man can travel at the rate of two thousand miles per hour if he moves with the velocity of 01 ' Father Time ? The answer to this question is obvious. Opportunities are available for any person who is willing to move, to think and to execute with precision and facility. As Director of the Alabama State CoUege - Mobile Center, my message to you is this: One must follow the course of growth; he must not forget what the good old days were like; but, of necessity, he must reach out and hitch his mind to the cloak of the astronaut, for to- day ' s story does not end with the usual lines from the Merlin Cycle - and they lived hap- pily ever after. S. D. Bishop, Director
