Q ' The Varsity bucked up against Beresford in the opening game l F and the result was score of 9 to 6. ,-'Xkron's favor. The team I E played good football and were aided by Herb Cunningham's drop- E f kick. ' 1 g The team next played Vermillion, and are very sorry to report E E the score of 33 to O, Vermillion's favor. The team kept up the old g s tight and Leslie Ross played a good game making some very good f 3 takles. 2 g Our game at Orange City was lost through hard luck. Two j back-field men were ineligible. Orange City took the honors of the ' s day, score being 8 to 0. E Q g The next game our team played at Elk Point. VVe lost, but by E 5 a narrow margin. The score was a tie until the last few minutes, g H when Akron opened up on passes, and Elk Point by an intercepted g I and lucky run, finished the game. The score was 6 to 0. I I Alcestor came over here and met our team on our own field. g I Our boys romped on them badly. Team-work was evident in g I every play. Jack made his long gains around end and through the 5 g line. Ellis made two long runs. Everyone played a good and heady s E game and the team was handled in good shape. The score was 44 : ' to v E The next game was played here with Elk Point. We would like g I to have won this game, but were cheerful losers. Jack played a E 1 good game catching passes and making long end runs, almost at 4 . 5 g will. Herb also played a good game. We were defeated by a score g 4 was 26 to 0. 4 f The following week our team went to Rock Valley. Rock : s Valleyis team outweighed our team by far, but our team put up the g I old fight and showed them that Agron wasn't a quitter. The score E I was 26 to 0. I E Next our team met Ponca on our own held. After a hard Fight, 5 s Akron won. The game was fought on even terms until the very last.
