This class is especially conspicuous in that-in the aforementioned sense-it has no class history. lt is as remarkable for its peaceful recorfl as for the brilliant acoinplishment of its members. ln nineteen hunclrecl twenty-three. this class Ito use the slang expressionj showed its stuff in the following manner. They won the inter-class basketball tournament. This same year, even though Freshies, they took a second in the inter- class track meet, the junior class of that year tak- ing first. .Xnother peculiar but happy turn in their his- tory was the marriage of two of their members, both of them lvatsj. This class also contains some of the best ora- tory ancl athletic ability in the high school. The result of intelligence anrl ability. combinecl with their unshalien belief in thc saying that, ln union there is strength, this class succeeclecl in making thus far a most brilliant ancl unusual recorcl, anfl no other than an illustrious future can be preclictecl for this to be class of '26, -.X Sophomore. f ns l

fl QYQYP? A TORPE DO Sl' ? j9'T'4yAvAj A SOPHOMORES SOLILOQUY Once upon an evening dreary, I was wrestling weak and weary XYith some Geometric problems I had never seen before. 'l'hinking idly of Miss Padcn, By whose edict we were laden, O, Geometry's a bore. As 1 sat some rule repeating All my soul within me burning, l decided to wait the morrow, And try Civics for a while. XVho is governor ol the state? When did he become a candidate? U, l can't recall the date, ln my brain its not on file. Long I, sat there madly yearning, All my soul within be burning, Longing thinking thoughts no student liver dared to think before. O, begone all demonstration, How I wish my education And the hour of graduation, VVere a memory of yore. But at last my soul grew stronger, Hesitating then no longer l take up my linglish classic, And l o'er its pages poured. This is my only salvation, So l make close application, l will a demonstration NN'hen I. enter that classroom door. But why be so melancholy VVhen so much in life is jolly? For a Sophomore it is folly To think of work alone. ln Athletics we're excelling, ln Dramatics we're compelling, All the classes now are telling 'l'hey've never seen the like of us before. -Yalda liricson
