av v f ! - -112.4 TORPEDO N i' YE CLASSE HISTORIE ln the eventful year of nineteen hundred and twenty, a class thirty strong marched into the halls of Akron High School, planning to take it by storm, yet when it came down to the real facts we were timid and shy, but willing to learn the ways and means of this great institution of knowledge. The first few months of that first year was spent getting twisted about, losing our way to different class rooms and finding out that the four subjects that were selected for us were somewhat harder than the eight or nine that we had been taking in the grades. That was the debut of the present class of 1924. Since the time of our first entrance to the present time the num- ber has dwindled down to nineteen. Since the advent of our entrance many familiar faces have disappeared. however many new ones have entered. The class of '24 has always held a prominent place in all lligh School activities throughout its career. In ath- letics we always had our share of men on the team. The girls of the class won the lnterclass Basketball champion- ship for both 19.23 and 1924. The boys captured the Inter- class Tournament in their junior year. In 1923 they took the lnterclass Track Meet by a large margin. ln socal activities the class of '24 has held a prominent place. They were always original in their entertainments and parties. In llramatics and Declamatory they have always been well represented, making up about two thirds of the cast of lligh School plays and taking first in Declamatory con- tests. tlur lligh School career has been a most pleasant one. No matter in what direction we may take after graduation we can never forget the good times we have had in Arkon lligh School, and it is not without regret that we take our leave.
