The seniors of 1958 presen-t the Golden Haze to reflect the godden haze of memories, on
its thirty-first anniversary.
Thirtyeone years ago a group of the graduating class od 1927 put their heads together
to combine their ideas into one, that of constructing A'kron's first annual. Sponsored by
Robert Allen the staff was composed of:
Editor-in-Chie-f .............. -- --- Herrell Berger
Business Manager ........ .....,..... H arold Bowen
Circulation Manager .... .............. R obert Flohr
Art Editor ........ . .... .... C harles Wthittenfberger
Socicnl Editor ........ ...... P auline Hammond

H g Advertising .....,,.. Merril Berger and Marian IBurroWsl Gerig
They asked for ideas from the class for its name and decided on The Golden Haze
in association with the haze, carved in gold in each student's memory.
Tfhe theme of that first Golden Haze was of gypsy ideas which, aside If-rom looking back,
gazed into the future. This future must have been the year of Satellites 6- Sputniksf'
Punk Kinder was photographer and the book was published in the local newspaper
office. Together with the efforts of the class, totaling 27, the staff produced our first annual,
easily covering 'their expenses' and left a bal-ance to be added to the advancing class's
funds, by which -to better their book.
On t'his, the thirtxy'-first anniversary of our year book, we hope the Golden Haze of 1958
will bring back memories to cherish in the years to come.
