Miss D.A.R. I believe a good citizen is one who maintains that individual liberties are the concrete foundations of our republican government.'' Respectable citizens do not require 4.0 averages or millions of dollars, but need only a few basic qualities such as belief in God, true concern for others, courte- sy and respect for others. Laurie Hollister received the honor of being chosen for the Miss D.A.R. Award. This award is given an- nually by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Laurie has been active throughout the last four years in Student Council, cheerleading, girls athletics, dra- ma, and in class activities. To me, citizenship is the right we have to act as an individual for our own well-being and for the good of the community. A good citizen strives to improve himself and in doing so improves the quality of his society. Good citizenship involves assuming responsi- bilities and carrying out the duties these responsibili- ties demand as a member of a family, school, and community. Mr. Citizenship Timothy Webster was elected by his fellow classmates and teachers to be Mr. Citizenship for the Senior Class of 1974. Tim has been a real asset to our school and especially to our sports teams during the past few years. He par- ticipated in cross country in the ninth and tenth grades, varsity basketball during the past two years, golf in the twelfth grade, and varsity baseball in the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. This includes the State Championship Baseball Team of 1972, which Tim contributed to by playing shortstop.
