USS AINSVVCDRTH DE-1090 Ainsworth was commissioned 31lVlarch'73 and stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. She is manned by 16 officers and 225 enlisted men, plus additional quarters for helicopter detachment and Squadron Commander staff. Ainsworth is powered by a single five-bladed screw driven by steam turbines developing 35,000 shaft horsepower. The 1200 psi steam is developed by two boilers giving speeds in excess of 27 knots. Ainsworth is 446 feet long, beam of 47 feet, deepest point of 25 feet, and full displacement of 4,200 tons, Ainsworth's armament includes torpedo tubes, antisubmarine rocket launcher manned helicopter, and a five inch fifty four caliber rapid fire gun. 2 ,s .a:34-.-5... 2- ,A .-,,,-
