Counseling students, offering words of congratulation or consolation, or just listening to students’ and teachers’ problems has occupied a major part of the ten years that Mr. J. O. Willis has been principal of Aiken High School. Mr. Willis seemed to have an inner understanding of the problems of high school students and was always ready to listen, with wisdom and kindness, to any problem brought to him. Mrs. Hazel McNeil, secretary to Mr. Willis, was also ready to bear and help solve student problems. Her work didn’t stop with secretarial duties: she was often called upon to arrange schedules, soothe irritated parents, give messages to student . and teachers, and aid the daily dozens of visitors who came to Aiken I ligh School. o
